Fantastic dark brown cowhide leather cross body messenger bag. Hand and machine stitched. Leather hand tanned using only tree bark and water. This leather messenger bag has a carry handle and long strap. The fold over closure with buckets conceals three outside pockets and one large divided inside compartment.

The Story:  The leather tanning Mom of this family came to my shop to with some basic leather work, which I loved.  A few months later she returned with her kids who had completely reworked their designs.  As you can see, the kids brought a fresh perspective and a utility and beauty in design that is distinctly theirs.   They love the art of leather work, and we can work together to create custom designs to suit your specific needs.

There is only one leather tanner in Belize and she learned the craft from her father who owned the famous “Western Leather”.   The leather is tanned “the old fashioned way” with using only tree bark and water. They are located on the mainland of Belize near Belmopan, the capital of Belize.  They started out making saddles, belts and other equestrian needs and have recently expanded to fashion design.
