After years of searching for an absorbent coaster that would work in hot Belize, we finally made our own.  Wood, fabric, cork, slate….none of them *really* work…they just get soggy or the condensation runs off and onto the table.  Having grown weary of rings on gorgeous wood tables, we knew there had to be a better solution.  We cut some pressed board, found the glue gun and sisel twine and got to work!  Not only does this sturdy coaster look great and has a stylish look to adorn your decor, they are super functional and a super absorbent coaster.

Thoughtfully designed, these really will become Your Favorite Coaster.  One side is not glued down so that you can tuck your wine glass into it for additional stability on unsteady surfaces or on wobbly tables.

The true test is the “Forgotten water bottle” test.  How many times have you taken a cold water out of the fridge, put it down, then got distracted.  Returning later, you find a giant puddle on your table and encroaching on your laptop!  OH NO!  Well, if you’re using Your Favorite Coaster, this won’t happen again.  Your Favorite Coaster will absorb the condensation from a forgotten 1 liter bottle of water.

An added benefit – use it to sop up other messes.  Although not the intention, we’ve often found ourselves using the coaster to mop up other minor spills in our work area.  Oops!
